Customs

It's been an honor and a pleasure to design these rings for talented, magnetic, beloved people.

For engagement ring for a woman who loves the mysteries of space, a custom-cut lozenge of clear quartz streaked with gold inclusions floats above a sheet of gray-green-pink mother of pearl (like a tiny window into the cosmos), and both are set in an 18k gold ring that is equal parts Space Age and imperial Rome.

For a young artist who often feels like an outsider, we pulled in astrology and tarot to help guide our design. The ring became an Eye of Love, a reminder of her inherent worth she can look to when she meets external judgement. A golden pupil is inlaid in an iris of mother of pearl, glowing under a custom rock crystal cabochon and held in a sculptural sterling ring.

For the 50th birthday of a textile artist and Appalachian aesthete, her husband asked for a design marrying turquoise and diamonds in high karat gold. We carved her a torus of old mine turquoise and selected a central diamond; the three diamonds set into the ring band honor her three children.

For my brilliant, generous, and hard-working mother I made the Gemini ring; two rolling diamonds play between a field of labradorite and a custom-carved white sapphire dome, and a tiny diamond is nestles at the base of the 18k band.

And for a dear friend's wedding anniversary, a gold and mother of pearl balsamic Moon is inlaid in a buffalo horn sky scattered with diamond stars.
